Location: Birmingham (Regional office)
Our client, a UK and Ireland law firm with a strong national presence and international reach, is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Financial & Professional Risks team.
The Role
You will advise insurers, brokers and other insurance sector clients on a range of professional indemnity, D&O, financial institutions and coverage matters, acting on complex and high‑value disputes across traditional and emerging sectors. The role offers regular client contact, responsibility for matter management, and the opportunity to support partners with client relationship development and business development activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing professional indemnity and insurance coverage disputes
- Advising on complex liability, coverage and procedural issues
- Acting in County Court, High Court, TCC, Commercial Courts and Ombudsman matters
- Reporting to insurer clients in line with strict service standards
- Applying strong CPR knowledge, including costs, disclosure and interim applications
- Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
- Supporting marketing, bids and profile‑raising initiatives
Requirements
- 4+ years’ PQE in insurance and coverage matters
- Proven experience in professional indemnity / insurance litigation
- Strong technical ability with excellent client‑handling skills
- Commercial, pragmatic approach and strong communication skills
