An opportunity has arisen for a Conflicts Analyst to join a dynamic risk and compliance team within an international law firm. This role is well-suited to someone with strong conflicts analytical experience from a US law firm.

The position will involve supporting the firm’s conflicts function, identifying and assessing potential legal and business conflicts, and assisting in resolving issues in line with regulatory and ethical requirements, including both UK and US frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing new client and matter information via an intake system, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Conducting conflicts checks and preliminary analysis in line with firm policies and professional rules
  • Preparing clear and concise conflicts reports, including recommendations for resolution
  • Maintaining and updating conflicts databases and ensuring accurate record-keeping
  • Managing conflict clearances, including documenting resolutions and waivers
  • Liaising with stakeholders across the business to provide guidance throughout the conflicts process
  • Supporting system improvements and assisting with urgent or time-sensitive matters when required

Candidate requirements:

  • Degree educated (or equivalent)
  • Experience in conflicts, compliance, research, or a similar analytical role within a professional services or corporate environment
  • An interest in conflicts analysis and ethical rules; prior exposure to ABA conflicts rules is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
