The Role
Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, you will lead on legal strategy for European markets, operating at the intersection of regulation, commercial strategy, and international expansion.
You will play a critical role in enabling growth by translating complex regulatory frameworks into clear, pragmatic guidance that supports market entry, product development, and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of regulatory and competition strategy across European markets
- Support expansion into new territories, ensuring compliance with evolving local and EU frameworks
- Act as a senior escalation point on complex, high-value commercial contract negotiations
- Partner closely with commercial, product, and public affairs teams on strategic initiatives
- Provide risk-based, commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders
- Lead and develop a team of three direct reports, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture
- Drive improvements in legal processes, including the adoption of legal technology and AI tools
About You
- Approximately 10+ years’ PQE with strong exposure to EU regulatory and compliance matters
- Experience operating within complex, fast-paced or highly regulated industries
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance risk against growth and opportunity
- Track record of supporting sophisticated commercial negotiations
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and influencing strategic decision-making
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach
