A growing international organization is seeking an Employment Counsel to join its legal team. This attorney will serve as a trusted advisor on a broad range of employment matters across the United States and select international jurisdictions, partnering closely with HR, compliance, and business leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys balancing day-to-day counseling with strategic projects, investigations, policy development, and cross-border employment issues.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze employment law developments and provide practical guidance regarding their impact on company operations.
  • Partner with business leaders, HR, and compliance professionals to address workforce-related legal and employee relations issues.
  • Assist with strategic initiatives, reorganizations, integrations, and other cross-functional projects affecting the workforce.
  • Coordinate with external counsel on employment disputes, regulatory matters, and litigation strategy when needed.
  • Create and deliver training programs on employment law compliance and workplace best practices.
  • Draft, revise, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and internal governance documents.
  • Help improve internal legal processes and identify opportunities to increase efficiency across employment-related workflows.
  • Support and conduct workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy concerns, and other sensitive matters.
  • Provide day-to-day advice on leave laws, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, disciplinary actions, and other employment matters.

Qualifications

  • J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to provide practical, solution-oriented advice to stakeholders.
  • 4+ years of employment law experience, including law firm and/or in-house experience.
  • Experience advising on U.S. employment law matters and partnering directly with HR and operational leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong drafting and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
  • Experience supporting employment matters outside the U.S. is highly desirable.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with employment issues arising from mergers, acquisitions, corporate integrations, or restructuring efforts.
  • Experience supporting businesses in technology, healthcare, information services, data analytics, or similarly complex industries.
  • Knowledge of workplace privacy, data protection, or other compliance-related employment issues.
  • Experience working with legal budgets and overseeing outside counsel relationships.
  • Exposure to international employment law matters.
