A leading London law firm is seeking a Residential Property Associate (2-4 PQE) to join its highly regarded Residential Property team. The practice advises high‑net‑worth individuals, families, private banks, and investment vehicles on high‑value residential real estate matters across prime central London and wider England.
The team handles a wide range of premium transactions including acquisitions, disposals, financings, and complex title matters. Typical deal values range from new‑build properties up to £3 million and prime secondary market assets between £5-20 million.
The Role
You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers within a dedicated team environment, managing your own caseload (with supervision where needed) and supporting on major transactions. Work will include:
- Acting on sales and purchases of residential properties (freehold and leasehold).
- Advising on financing matters, including for both conventional and Shariah/Islamic banking structures.
- Preparing and negotiating transaction documents and raising enquiries.
- Managing refinances for borrowers and responding to lender requirements.
- Preparing Reports on Title, SDLT forms, registrations, and completion statements.
- Handling lettings, licences to assign, underlet and alter, and deeds of variation.
- Running file opening procedures including AML, conflict checks, and client onboarding.
- Managing a high volume of time‑sensitive transactions with precision and organisation.
The team works with sophisticated clients requiring proactive communication, commercial advice, and excellent attention to detail.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring:
- 2-4 years’ PQE in residential property within a well‑respected firm.
- Experience of high‑value transactions, including leasehold and freehold work.
- Exposure to mortgage and refinancing matters; Islamic finance experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload.
- Excellent drafting, communication and client‑handling skills.
- Confidence in advising clients directly and working collaboratively within a team.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach and strong academic background.
