A highly regarded US law firm is seeking to recruit a mid‑level associate for its competition practice in London. The team is known for handling complex, high‑profile matters across the full spectrum of UK and EU competition law, working with an international client base on sophisticated cross‑border mandates. The platform is fully integrated and offers strong collaboration with colleagues across Europe and globally.
The Role
The incoming associate will work across a broad range of competition matters, including merger control, cartel investigations, abuse of dominance cases and competition litigation. The role involves supporting on multi‑jurisdictional mandates and working closely with colleagues in related practice areas. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, market‑leading competition team with exposure to technically challenging and high‑value matters.
What They’re Looking For
- 2-4 PQE and qualified in the UK or EU.
- Strong academics from a leading institution.
- Experience in at least some of the following:
- EU and UK merger control
- Article 101 / Chapter 1 cases (including cartel investigations)
- Abuse of dominance (Article 102 / Chapter 2)
- Competition litigation
- Ideally experience gained in London or Brussels.
- Ideally experience interacting with the European Commission and/or UK competition authorities.
- Strong communication skills, commercial awareness and the ability to work within a high‑performing team.
