General counsel in insurance roundtable: defining the GC agenda in 2026

Event date/time: Tue, 17 March 2026 8:30 am - 10:30 am

How are general counsel adapting their legal strategy as regulatory expectations in the insurance sector continue to evolve?

Join senior legal leaders in Moorgate for an interactive, off‑the‑record roundtable exploring the shifting regulatory, commercial and operational pressures shaping the modern GC role.

We will explore three themes that will define the General Counsel agenda in 2026:

  • Regulatory easing in 2026 – what’s really changing: a shifting regulatory model may feel lighter, but expectations around governance, Consumer Duty and fair‑value oversight remain firmly in place
  • AI in insurance and the new legal controls: as AI embeds across underwriting, claims and customer journeys, legal teams need stronger guardrails on accuracy, transparency, cyber risk and liability
  • Talent mobility, cost pressure and acquisition‑led growth: a softer market is driving higher people movement and more M&A activity, raising retention, cultural‑fit and integration challenges for leaner teams

Led by Chris Newby, General Counsel, Ryan Specialty International, and hosted by the Taylor Root in-house legal recruitment experts Nikki Newton, Emma Coulter, Maame Eshun and Karolina Mikulicz-Church, our session will be an opportunity to share experiences, benchmark approaches and gain practical insight.
