VP/Director, Legal & Documentation, APAC
Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking an experienced capital markets documentation specialist to join its Advisory & Contract Execution function across APAC. This senior role will oversee complex trading documentation, provide regulatory and transactional advisory support, and partner closely with trading desks and key stakeholders across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the negotiation and execution of capital markets agreements, including ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs, GMRAs and GMSLAs.
- Provide commercial and documentation advice to trading desks and stakeholders across APAC.
- Advise on derivatives regulations and documentation requirements across key APAC markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Australia.
- Partner with Legal, Credit, Tax, Operations, Collateral Management and other functions to facilitate transactions and manage risk.
- Lead the regional function, manage business priorities and contribute to regulatory, documentation and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Law degree with 10+ years of relevant trading documentation experience, ideally within a global financial institution.
- Deep experience negotiating ISDA/CSA documentation, with strong knowledge of GMRAs, GMSLAs and related capital markets agreements.
- Strong understanding of derivatives regulations and regulatory developments across APAC.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advise senior business stakeholders and manage complex negotiations.
- Commercially minded, highly organised and able to operate independently within tight deadlines and across global time zones.
