Head of Compliance – Law Firm
A highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to join its Risk & Compliance function in London.
This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to work closely with the Director of Compliance, helping shape and enhance the firm’s governance, risk and compliance framework while leading a high-performing compliance team.
The Role
As Head of Compliance, you will:
- Lead, mentor and develop a talented compliance team.
- Oversee client and matter onboarding processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
- Act as a key escalation point for AML, CDD and source of funds queries.
- Drive strategic compliance and onboarding improvement projects.
- Support the development and implementation of compliance policies, procedures and controls.
- Deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives across the firm.
- Prepare management information and compliance reporting to support governance and decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with partners, stakeholders and external parties.
About You
You will have:
- Significant experience in risk and compliance.
- Experience managing a team.
- Strong AML, CDD and regulatory compliance knowledge.
- Experience gained within a law firm environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
- The ability to thrive in an evolving environment.
- A degree-level education; legal or compliance qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
