Founding AI Engineer
A rare opportunity to build an AI function for a high-performing global hedge fund.
We are partnering with a well-established investment firm who strongly believes that AI will reshape investing. We are looking for a Founding AI Engineer to architect and scale their AI capability from the ground up.
This is not a plug-and-play role. You will sit alongside the CIO and investment team, owning the full lifecycle – from building immediate productivity tools to designing the long-term AI infrastructure that drives investment edge.
What you’ll do:
- Build and deploy LLM-powered tools to enhance research workflows and decision-making
- Design and implement a unified, AI-ready data platform across structured and unstructured sources
- Architect scalable AI infrastructure (LLMs, vector DBs, cloud, model serving)
- Partner directly with investors to explore AI-driven alpha generation opportunities
- Establish governance, security, and best practices across AI systems
What will you have
- Proven experience building and deploying LLM applications end-to-end
- Strong grasp of RAG, agentic systems, and modern AI tooling
- Solid cloud and data engineering capabilities
- A hands-on builder with commercial instinct and ownership mindset
- Ability to translate between technical and investment teams
- Exposure to financial markets, hedge funds, or investment workflows will be nice to have
