We’re partnering with a leading UK business to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to join its established legal team.

The Role

As part of a collaborative legal team, you will:

  • Provide legal and regulatory advice on a broad range of customer-facing products and services
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on complex commercial and regulated agreements
  • Support strategic partnerships and key commercial relationships
  • Act as a trusted adviser on new business initiatives, product development and growth opportunities
  • Partner closely with Risk, Compliance and business stakeholders on regulatory matters
  • Advise on the impact of regulatory developments and emerging requirements
  • Balance commercial objectives with legal and regulatory risk management
  • Support business-wide projects and transformation initiatives
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes and ways of working
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

Requirements For The Role

Our client is seeking a candidate with a background in the insurance sector that can demonstrate the following:

  • 5+ years’ PQE
  • Strong experience advising regulated insurance businesses
  • Expertise in insurance regulatory matters and customer-facing products
  • Experience negotiating and advising on complex commercial agreements
  • A strong understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting insurance businesses
  • Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills
  • Experience working closely with Compliance and Risk teams
  • The ability to communicate complex legal and regulatory issues in a practical and commercial manner
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Experience gained either in-house or within private practice
