The firm is looking for a Construction Partner (contentious, non‑contentious, or mixed) who wants to:
- Play a lead role in building the Birmingham construction offering
- Work alongside a strong national and international team with deep sector expertise
- Develop and grow a high‑quality client portfolio including developers, funders, contractors, energy companies, infrastructure operators and public sector bodies
- Join a modern, ambitious firm that values autonomy, innovation and genuine career progression
This opportunity suits an existing partner with a following.
- Lead and expand the construction practice in Birmingham
- Advise on major development, construction and infrastructure projects across diverse sectors
- Provide strategic, commercially focused advice on construction contracts (including JCT, NEC and bespoke agreements), disputes, risk management and project delivery
- Strengthen and enhance the firm’s local, national and pan‑European networks
- Collaborate with real estate, energy, finance and commercial teams on significant cross‑disciplinary matters
- Mentor and develop junior lawyers
- Drive business development initiatives and contribute to the long‑term strategy of the practice
You will be:
- An experienced construction lawyer with partnership experience
- Specialised in contentious, non‑contentious or mixed construction matters
- Commercial, pragmatic and skilled at building lasting client relationships
- Entrepreneurial, collaborative and motivated by growing a practice
- Able to bring a transferable client following or a demonstrable record of business development
- A confident leader with a passion for developing people and working in a team‑oriented environment
