As part of our Trustee Network series of events, Taylor Root is partnered with Indigo Volunteers to explore the value General Counsel bring to the charity trustee role.
The role of the trustee can be hugely rewarding and provides opportunities to add value to a charity through the sharing of skills and experience. In this webinar we explored these opportunities in depth, with particular focus on the skill sets of General Counsel, and also discuss the value of trustees to the charities they support.

Holly Penalver
Holly is the founder and CEO of Indigo Volunteers, which has placed thousands of volunteers with their partners supporting refugees along the European migratory route with aid, healthcare, education, skills workshops and other vital services.
Fran Forsyth
Fran is Global General Counsel for Arcadis, the world’s largest company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. Fran joined Indigo Volunteers in April 2021 as Secretary and a member of the Board of Trustees.
Robin Chalmers
Robin is currently Chief Legal Counsel at All3 Media International, having previously worked in the UK and internationally and in production, distribution and broadcasting at BBC Studios, Fremantle and Channel 4. He joined The Film and TV Charity as a trustee earlier this year.
Lucy Philipson
Lucy is the CEO of COCO and has worked with the charity since 2004. She is passionate about international relations, development, poverty alleviation and commitment to accountability, and is an advocate for networking, skill sharing, encouraging leadership and increasing aid effectiveness.
