Kasey Chappelle has worked in technology risk and compliance for more than two decades, holding early data protection leadership roles in major brands like eBay, Vodafone and American Express.
Building on her core expertise in privacy law, policy and operations, she expanded into technology risk management and financial services regulatory compliance. She found her niche supporting fast-moving scaleups like GoCardless and Ooredoo Fintech, consulting for venture capital firms and their portfolios, and providing fractional risk leadership to small enterprises through her firm Simple Risk Ltd.
She is currently Risk & Compliance Lead at blockchain compliance company Elliptic, focusing on enterprise and technology risk management and exploring emerging issues like the intersection of AI governance and financial services model risk management.
She has also just started a term as Content and Community Editor at PICCASO, inaugurating the Thought Pieces series of guest articles published on the PICCASO Community Hub.

She’s currently part of Airbnb’s Global Privacy Legal team. Her prior experience includes leading the privacy team at Vinted, Visa, and as well as advisory work at PwC and other consultancy firms.
Karolina’s experience across global in-house and consulting roles gives her a distinctive perspective on how organisations translate privacy obligations into effective governance and execution.
