Commercial Projects Senior Associate/Principal Associate

Our client is a nationally recognised law firm in Birmingham, and they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Associate or Principal Associate to join their busy Commercial Projects team.

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on high value and high-profile projects often with national importance.

Clients include government departments, contracting authorities and commercial clients in a range of sectors. The team do a lot of work in the student accommodation market and the successful candidate will advise universities and private sector consortia bidding on projects.

From negotiating contracts to navigating regulatory requirements, transactions will be varied and you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic legal counsel that drives our clients’ success.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage commercial projects and public-private partnership arrangements from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints.
Provide expert legal advice and guidance on a wide range of commercial matters, including contracts, procurement, joint venture arrangements, project finance and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate closely with colleagues and clients to develop innovative solutions that address complex legal challenges.

Mentor and supervise junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

Qualifications:

Qualified solicitor with at least 5 years PQE experience in commercial/projects law, preferably within a reputable law firm.

Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial transactions, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under pressure.
