A highly respected London law firm is seeking a Corporate Legal Director (or senior-level Senior Associate) to join its Corporate Department. The team advises entrepreneurs, high‑net‑worth individuals, family offices, privately owned companies and multinational businesses across a broad range of complex corporate transactions.
The role sits within a well‑established firm known for its longstanding excellence in private client, family and commercial work.
The Team
The Corporate Department consists of partners, solicitors and a trainee operating as a close‑knit, collaborative unit. The team handles an extensive range of strategic corporate and commercial matters and regularly acts on high‑profile work arising from the firm’s established private client and UHNW client base.
The Role
The successful candidate will take a leadership role in the department and will be involved in:
- Leading on a broad range of corporate transactions, including share and asset sales, joint ventures, restructurings and investment agreements.
- Running transactional mandates from inception to completion, including negotiation, drafting and client management.
- Undertaking a mix of corporate and commercial advisory work for a varied and sophisticated client base.
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the team.
- Working collaboratively within the department while also demonstrating autonomy and confidence handling matters with minimal supervision when appropriate.
This is a senior, client‑facing role with significant responsibility and visibility within the team.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring:
- 5-8 years‘ PQE in corporate law (flexibility for the right candidate).
- Experience from a well‑regarded corporate practice.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to work effectively with entrepreneurial and privately owned businesses.
- The ability to demonstrate an existing network, early client following or business development potential.
- Experience acting for HNWIs and family offices (helpful but not essential).
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work well in a flat team structure.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- A pragmatic, commercial approach and willingness to take part in client development activities.
