Legal Counsel – Netherlands
We are partnering with an innovative international organization operating across the energy, industrial and engineering sectors to recruit a Legal Counsel. In this role, you will provide legal support on complex, high-value commercial projects with an international scope, working closely with stakeholders across sales, finance, procurement, project management and operations.
This position offers exposure to sophisticated contract negotiations, cross-border transactions and a diverse range of legal matters throughout the full project lifecycle. Main responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate and finalise a wide range of commercial agreements and project contracts.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal and contractual risks associated with international projects and commercial transactions.
- Support contract management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and manage legal documentation, corporate records, contracts and legal databases.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and translate these into practical policies, procedures and contractual templates.
- Provide legal guidance to business functions including sales, finance, procurement, supply chain, project management and service operations.
- Assist in the management of claims, disputes, litigation matters and interactions with external legal counsel where required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes, policies and governance frameworks.
Your profile:
- A Master’s degree in Law, preferably with a focus on commercial, international or business law.
- 4-8 years of experience as Legal Counsel, Company Lawyer or within private practice.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and contract management skills.
- Experience advising on complex commercial agreements, ideally within an international business environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience or affinity with engineering, construction, maritime, renewable energy, industrial or technology sectors.
- A willingness to travel internationally when required.
- Fluency in English.
