The Role

You will be joining the derivatives and structured products team within a market-leading finance practice, advising on the full spectrum of credit risk transfer and structured finance transactions. The practice is heavily engaged in synthetic securitisation, Significant Risk Transfer (SRT), and regulatory capital transactions for international banks and financial sponsors.

The role encompasses:

• Advising on funded and unfunded synthetic securitisations and portfolio risk transfer structures
• Structuring and executing balance sheet optimisation transactions, including capital relief trades and regulatory-driven solutions
• Negotiating complex documentation covering regulatory capital, credit-linked instruments, and investor arrangements
• Collaboration with colleagues in tax, regulatory, and structured finance teams to deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary advice
• Advising on derivative overlays and hedging solutions associated with securitisation transactions

The nature of the work is predominantly cross-border, requiring exposure to multi-jurisdictional issues and direct interaction with senior client stakeholders. What They’re Looking For

• 3-8 years‘ PQE from a leading law firm or equivalent financial institution environment
• Strong experience in structured finance, derivatives, or securitisation, ideally with exposure to SRT transactions
• Knowledge of regulatory capital frameworks and credit risk mitigation strategies
• Ability to structure, draft, and negotiate complex transaction documentation
• Demonstrable analytical skills and sound commercial judgment
• Capacity to manage multi-party negotiations and work closely with major institutional clients
• International mindset and ability to operate confidently in a cross-border transaction environment
