Manager, Contracts & Compliance

I’m partnering with a well-established, publicly traded industrial distribution company to identify a Manager, Contracts & Compliance for its New York-area team. This is a great opportunity for a contracts professional looking to step into a visible, business-facing role within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the intersection of legal, compliance, and commercial operations. You’ll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of contracts while partnering closely with internal stakeholders across the business.

The position offers strong exposure to both commercial and government contracting, along with the chance to help streamline processes and improve contract management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements, including customer and vendor contracts, NDAs, pricing/rebate agreements, and purchase-related documents
  • Manage an active portfolio of commercial and government contracts throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Review and respond to RFIs and support bid processes for public and private sector opportunities
  • Maintain contract management systems, ensuring data accuracy, audit readiness, and adherence to internal policies
  • Support compliance with contractual insurance requirements, including tracking certificates of insurance and coordinating with stakeholders
  • Partner with internal teams to evaluate contract modifications, negotiate terms, and balance business needs with risk mitigation
  • Act as a key liaison and ambassador for the legal/compliance function across the organization
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiency in contract workflows

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in contract management, legal operations, or a related function
  • Experience with both commercial and/or government contracts is strongly preferred
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and project management capabilities
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract management tools
