In-House Associate/AVP Attorney (Capital Markets)
Representing a leading commercial real estate investment manager, we are proud to be leading the search for an Associate / Associate Vice President, Closing Group (Capital Markets). This newly created role will support the execution of complex back-leverage financings and structured credit transactions across a growing debt platform.
This is a highly visible role that will sit at the intersection of legal, closing, and capital markets teams, helping to drive efficiency and transaction execution across a critical business function.
As the Associate / Associate Vice President, Closing Group (Capital Markets), you will be responsible for:
* Serving as the primary liaison between the Closing Group and Capital Markets team for back-leverage execution activities
* Managing closing processes for structured financing transactions, including repurchase facilities, note-on-note financings, A/B structures, and senior/mezzanine splits
* Owning and maintaining transaction checklists, coordinating lenders, counsel, custodians, and internal stakeholders throughout the closing lifecycle
* Drafting, reviewing, and managing loan assignment and transfer documentation, including repurchase agreement-related documents and schedules
* Coordinating document delivery, custodial requirements, and exception resolution with internal and external partners
* Supporting the execution of new and evolving financing structures, including subscription facilities, CLOs, and other structured finance vehicles
* Managing due diligence processes, closing deliverables, and transaction sequencing across multiple concurrent deals
* Identifying opportunities to improve documentation workflows, process standardization, reporting, and transaction management practices
* Working closely with both Closing Group and Capital Markets leadership in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
To be successful in this role our client is looking for a:
* Juris Doctor or experienced paralegal with approximately 5+ years of relevant experience, although exceptional candidates with alternative experience levels will be considered
* Professional with experience in commercial real estate finance, structured finance, capital markets, lender-side finance, or related transactional practices
* Candidate familiar with financing structures such as repurchase facilities, note-on-note financings, A/B structures, warehouse facilities, or senior/mezzanine lending arrangements
* Individual who has managed complex transaction closings and can coordinate multiple parties, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously
* Highly process-oriented professional with exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
* Effective communicator who can build relationships across legal, capital markets, investment, and operations teams
* Self-directed individual who can operate with minimal supervision while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and accountability
* Professional comfortable working in a five-day-per-week, in-office environment
