Starting your legal AI journey: a practical guide for general counsel

Event date/time: Do, 30 April 2026 8:30 am - 10:30 am

AI is rapidly reshaping the legal landscape, yet many general counsel still feel unsure where to begin. This session is designed as a safe, jargon‑free space for senior leaders to explore what AI can realistically do for in‑house teams, how to assess emerging tools and what “good” looks like when starting out.

You’ll hear from an expert panel who have navigated this journey firsthand:

  • Julian Homerstone, Former Group General Counsel, Virgin Atlantic, who will share real‑world insights from modernising a large legal function and deploying AI to support strategic, high‑risk operational environments
  • Stephanie Dominy, General Counsel at Tessl and technology adviser, who will demystify the newly released Legal Benchmarks AI Evaluation Framework – a practical, open‑source toolkit that helps GCs cut through vendor noise and assess tools with structure and confidence
  • Richard Barrett, Copilot Solutions Engineer at Microsoft, who will share some case studies of CoPilot integrations and practical demonstrations

We’re also proud to partner with LinkedIn on this session, ensuring attendees benefit from the latest data shaping the legal and technology landscape.

The session will equip you to:

  • Understand the practical uses of AI for in-house legal teams
  • Ask the right questions of vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Build an initial roadmap tailored to your organisation’s risk appetite, workflows, and maturity
  • Move from “AI curiosity” to confident, informed action

Whether you are exploring AI for the first time or seeking structure around early adoption, this event will give you the frameworks, questions and next steps you need to get started.

If you would like to attend, register your interest below and we will be in touch to confirm your place.
