Governance & Risk Analyst

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Governance & Risk Analyst to join a respected professional services firm with a well-established Governance & Risk function. This role offers exposure to a broad range of compliance, governance, quality, and risk management activities, making it ideal for a compliance professional looking to further develop their expertise within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Opportunity

Working as part of a specialist Governance & Risk team, you will play a key role in supporting the firm’s risk management and compliance framework. The position offers a varied workload spanning compliance monitoring, quality management, regulatory compliance, training, reporting, and policy development.

You will work closely with stakeholders across both legal and business services teams, helping to promote best practice, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with regulatory and professional obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing maintenance and development of the firm’s quality management and compliance framework.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance projects and governance initiatives.
  • Conduct file reviews, audits, and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Support external accreditation processes and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Assist with the preparation and updating of policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
  • Monitor compliance developments and regulatory updates, producing internal communications and alerts.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings and help communicate governance and risk matters across the business.
  • Assist with the preparation of committee papers, management reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Support insurance-related processes, including claims tracking and annual insurance renewals.
  • Carry out compliance research to support policy development and risk management initiatives.
  • Deliver compliance training and awareness sessions to colleagues across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to promote a positive risk and compliance culture.

About You

We are interested in speaking with candidates who possess:

  • Experience within a Risk & Compliance, Governance, or Regulatory role, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Knowledge of AML regulations, GDPR, conflicts management, and legal regulatory requirements.
  • An understanding of risk management principles and current compliance trends.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A high level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach and a willingness to contribute new ideas and process improvements.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
