Senior Privacy Advisor
A top international law firm is seeking a specialist to join its Data Governance and Technology Compliance team. This team operates within the broader Risk and Assurance function and works in close collaboration with the firm’s Information Security leadership to ensure internal compliance with global data protection and technology regulations.
In this role, you will contribute to the strategic objectives of the Risk & Assurance function, particularly in areas concerning data governance and digital compliance. Your work will support the firm’s broader data transformation initiatives and help embed regulatory best practices across global operations.
Although the position is formally linked to the firm’s UK-based operations hub, it plays a key role in delivering the global data and tech compliance strategy across multiple regions.
This strategic hire will:
- Enhance the effectiveness of the firm’s risk and compliance framework through expert input on data and technology matters.
- Support the design and implementation of major cross-functional initiatives, including digital transformation, data maturity programmes, and the firm’s multi-year security and privacy roadmap.
The Risk & Assurance team is commercially focused, aiming to deliver value both internally and to the firm’s clients.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Deep understanding of European data protection laws, with familiarity in other international privacy frameworks considered a plus.
- A minimum of four years’ experience supporting privacy compliance in large, multinational environments. Ideally, coming from a private practice background, though experience within in-house legal, risk, or compliance teams is also highly valued.
- Strong ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, business-friendly guidance.
- Experience managing long-term, strategic projects with a proactive and adaptable approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
