Senior Legal Counsel – Technology
The Opportunity
Our client is a leading financial services institution in Australia seeking a stellar technology lawyer to join a high calibre, collaborative team.
The business is at the start of a tech transformation journey, so it’s an exciting time to join. You will work on high value technology transactions, and also be involved in driving and implementing our client’s AI strategy.
This role is open to Australian and New Zealand citizens, sponsorship is also available for UK citizens seeking to relocate to Sydney for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of contracts, including software and technology licensing, as well as dealing with SaaS and other cloud-based offerings.
- Support AI-focused initiatives and emerging technology projects.
- Provide quality client service to a range of internal clients with a diverse portfolio of local and global projects
- Contribute to strategic projects, including innovative regulatory and compliance initiatives, such as efficiency-driven tech solutions.
Ideal Candidate
- Admitted to practice in Australia, New Zealand or the United Kingdom.
- Minimum 4 years PAE with technology experience gained from time spent at a reputable law firm.
- Experience working on data privacy, cyber security matters and/or experience utilising generative AI would be highly favored.
- Prior experience working in financial services would be advantageous.
- Strong team player, and an innovative thinker, with a desire to make a difference.
