Responsibilities

Case Management:

  • Assist attorneys in managing and organizing case files, including maintaining document databases, case calendars, and electronic filing systems.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, hearings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, such as complaints, interrogatories, motions, briefs, and subpoenas, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
  • Track and update case statuses, deadlines, and upcoming events.

Legal Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct legal research using online and offline resources to support case preparation.
  • Summarize and analyze legal documents, statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to the assigned cases.
  • Assist attorneys in drafting legal correspondence, memoranda, and discovery responses.

Document Management:

  • Review, organize, and analyze documents, including contracts, pleadings, and discovery materials.
  • Prepare document sets for production and maintain accurate document logs.
  • Assist with document review, including privilege review and preparation of privilege logs.

Trial Support:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions, including organizing exhibits, witness files, and trial binders.
  • Coordinate with vendors for court reporting, transcription, and other litigation support services.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders professionally and effectively.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and other paralegals to ensure efficient workflow and case management.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of junior paralegals and legal support staff, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state court rules and procedures.
  • Proficiency in legal research platforms, document management systems, and litigation support software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with electronic discovery (eDiscovery) tools and processes.
  • Experience with trial preparation and support.
