We’re running a search for a totally unique leisure project in the UAE that is bound to get lawyers with a good commercial contracts background interested.

So why this role in particular?

  • This is a high profile and ambitious venture, and you’ll be one of the first lawyers handling it.
  • The work will be extremely varied, challenging and rewarding. You’ll look back in years to come and say, ‘I worked on that!’.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drafting and reviewing a wide range of mainly commercial agreements across tech, retail, licencing and beyond.
  • Giving strategic legal advice to the internal business units across corporate governance, regulatory, commercial, employment and general risk.
  • Picking up whatever legal work comes through the door and figuring it out.
  • Supporting operational matters across the project.
  • External counsel management.

Who you’ll likely need to be in order to succeed:

Whilst there is a degree of flexibility, there are some core guidelines that make the backbone of the client expectations:

  • Common law qualified, with a PQE guideline of around 4-10 years.
  • In-house experience is strongly preferred, although law firm secondments will suffice.
  • Generalist skill set across a wide variety of commercial contracts.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Current UAE residence will be preferred but very suitable overseas applicants will also be considered. Note that the role will be based in Ras Al Khaimah.
