Senior Associate – Commercial Litigation & Investigations (12-Month FTC)

Our client, a heavyweight international City law firm is seeking a talented Senior Associate to join its Litigation & Investigations team in London on a 12-month fixed term contract, covering parental leave.

About the Team

This top-tier team is recognised for its expertise across a broad spectrum of contentious matters, including:

  • Complex commercial and financial disputes
  • Shareholder and joint venture litigation
  • Civil fraud and competition claims
  • Derivatives and structured finance disputes
  • ESG, data, cyber-security, and fintech-related litigation
  • Class actions, insurance disputes, and judicial reviews

The team works closely with transactional and advisory colleagues, offering clients a seamless and strategic approach to litigation and risk management.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will act for corporates, financial institutions, and individuals involved in high-value and complex disputes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising clients on commercial litigation matters
  • Managing cases and litigation strategy
  • Supervising junior lawyers and coordinating with counsel and experts
  • Preparing clients for hearings and trials
  • Supporting transactional teams with litigation input
  • Contributing to business development and knowledge sharing

Candidate Profile

  • 6+ years PQE in commercial litigation gained at a Top 20 or US/international City law firm
  • Ideally England & Wales qualified
  • Strong technical and strategic litigation skills
  • Excellent client relationship and communication abilities
  • Proven organisational and project management capabilities
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially minded approach
  • Interest in business development and thought leadership
