Senior Legal Counsel – Energy Sector (Remote, UK-Based)
Start: ASAP
Duration: Until at least Summer 2026 (possible extension)
Location: Fully remote (UK-based), with occasional travel for onboarding and periodic visits
Work Pattern: Ideally full-time, but 4-day week considered
Engagement: Day-rate contract, outside IR35
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join a leading organisation in the energy sector. This opportunity has arisen due to increased project workload within the legal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for major projects within the supply chain
- Lead and participate in negotiations (written and virtual)
- Draft and finalise contract clauses, NDAs, and Memoranda of Agreement
- Develop negotiation strategies with suppliers
- Collaborate closely with Contract Managers, Procurement, and enabling functions (Insurance, Compliance, Legal)
Requirements
- English-qualified solicitor
- Several years’ PQE with ability to work autonomously
- Strong supply chain and procurement experience
- Oil & Gas background preferable
- Energy sector experience desirable
