We are partnering with a leading Australian commercial law firm to recruit a talented Tax Lawyer to join their top-tier Taxation team in Melbourne. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside some of the most respected tax practitioners in the country, advising on complex, high stakes matters for a prestigious client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on a broad range of income tax and indirect tax matters across public and private transactions.
- Act on significant tax audits and disputes, including negotiations with the ATO.
- Provide strategic tax advice to high-net-worth individuals, private groups, and corporate clients.
- Collaborate with other practice groups on cross-disciplinary matters.
- Draft and review legal documentation and tax advice with precision and commercial insight.
- Build strong relationships with clients, counsel, and regulatory bodies.
The Ideal Candidate:
- 2+ years’ post-admission experience in taxation law.
- Demonstrated experience in complex tax matters, including disputes and transactional work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative team player with a passion for tax law and client service.
