IP & Licensing Attorney – Semiconductor Industry

A global technology company is seeking an IP & Licensing Attorney to join its legal team in Dallas, TX. This role focuses on intellectual property strategy, licensing, and legal support for complex IP matters across a broad portfolio of patents and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review third-party patent assertions and prepare defenses.
  • Lead out-licensing programs and manage related correspondence.
  • Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements (e.g., patent sales, trademark licenses).
  • Support M&A transactions and general legal team on IP matters.
  • Advise on patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, and other IP rights.
  • Manage outside counsel and technical consultants.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Registered U.S. Patent Attorney.
  • Technical degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) in electrical engineering, physics, or related field.
  • Experience in patent law, preferably in the high-tech sector.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel (10-15%, including internationally).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to work independently and cross-culturally.
