As part of our interview series for our Trustee Network, Taylor Root Partner, Sarah Ingwersen recently spoke to Howard Trust, General Counsel, Advisory at Schroders to find out his interest behind being a Trustee.

Why are you interested in being a Trustee?

I believe that my experience in working with boards and other fiduciary bodies and their governance over many years has given me the capability to be a part of the decision making bodies with responsibility for making the necessary decisions after a review of the facts and issues. These will be addressed in the governance framework of the organisation so that its purpose is advanced at the same time as the, sometimes competing, interests of the various stakeholders are managed and the organisation is able to keep moving forward.

Why do you think General Counsel’s make good Trustee’s?

GC’s typically have a broad exposure to many different issues, both legal and governance related. We have to provide a way forward that is pragmatic and dynamic, respecting the applicable rules and regulations and the interests of those affected.

If you are interested in a Trustee role or are looking to hire a Trustee position, please get in touch with Sarah Ingwersen to find out more.

We want to reiterate that this is not a paid service and forms part of our referral programme, so please do not hesitate to get in touch.
