Our client, a highly regarded Top 50 City practice seeking a talented solicitor to join its Restructuring & Insolvency team on a 9-12 month maternity cover FTC. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced solicitor with a background in both contentious and non‑contentious restructuring and insolvency to join a leading team handling complex, high‑profile and often cross‑border matters.

The Opportunity:
The Restructuring & Insolvency practice advises on a wide range of domestic and international matters, including distressed situations, special situations, and complex insolvency processes. You will work closely with key stakeholders such as lenders, debtors, sponsors, distressed investors and insolvency practitioners.
You will be involved in a varied caseload that may include:
- Advisory work for companies in financial distress
- Lender‑side mandates, including enforcement strategies
- Contingency planning and restructuring options
- Formal insolvency processes
- Contentious matters arising out of distressed scenarios
- Cross‑border restructurings and strategic turnaround projects
This is a fantastic chance to work on sophisticated matters that require both sound technical skills and commercial judgment. You will be joining a well‑structured team with strong partner support and a friendly, collaborative working style.
About You:
The firm is seeking a qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with:
- Experience in restructuring, insolvency and/or special situations
- Exposure to both contentious and non‑contentious work (ideal, not essential)
- Strong drafting and analytical skills
- The ability to operate in a fast‑moving environment and manage competing timelines
- A commercial, pragmatic approach when advising clients
- Excellent communication skills and strong team ethos
- Confidence handling complex documentation and advising senior stakeholders
This role will suit someone who is proactive, adaptable and able to integrate quickly into an established team.
