I’m currently working with a leading property management company based in Miami to recruit a Legal Counsel for their growing legal team to focus on Labor & Employment Law. They have a dedicated portfolio of residential and commercial properties, who strive to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in everything they do.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing legal guidance and support on a wide range of Labor & Employment law elated matters, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to the company on all aspects of employment law, including hiring, termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour issues, and employee benefits.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, including employment contracts, severance agreements, and non-compete agreements.
  • Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct internal investigations into employee complaints or allegations of misconduct and recommend appropriate courses of action.
  • Represent the company in administrative proceedings, mediations, and negotiations related to employment disputes or claims.
  • Stay informed of changes in employment law and proactively advise management on potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to provide training and guidance on legal compliance matters.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Florida.
  • Ideally 2-6 years of experience practicing employment law, preferably in a corporate or in-house legal environment.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the property management or real estate industry is a plus.
