The Opportunity

Our client is a prominent organisation in the energy sector in Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to working across network planning, network operations, delivery, major projects and renewable energy zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and advising on various network related contracts and negotiating on property rights, loan agreements and securities.
  • Review and negotiate contracts for major infrastructure projects and provide the business with front end advice.
  • Assist with network and regulated matters as well as reviewing and negotiating conditions of contracts for transmission infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare and effectively communicate advice to the Board, executives and senior managers on The National Electricity Laws and Rules.
  • Advising on the impact of regulatory regime on the major projects, and providing advice on the administration of contracts before and during the project delivery phase.

Ideal Candidate

  • Admitted as a Solicitor in Australia or New Zealand
  • 6 years+ PAE energy lawyer with experience gained from private practice or inhouse
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on various network infrastructure contracts in the energy industry
  • Ideally you will have experience in the National Electricity Rules, although this is not essential
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
