Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial
The Opportunity
A market leading FMCG brand, headquartered in Australia, is seeking a Counsel to join their legal and compliance team to work across a range of matters for all business functions and to support the executive team with all strategic requirements. This will be a five month full time fixed term contract role, with possibility to extend for a further six months on a part time basis.
About You
You will be a mid-senior level Lawyer who is looking for the opportunity to work in a dynamic, commercial setting in a close-knit legal team of a well-established Australian business.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing legal advice on the development of new products, supplier transactions and contract negotiations
- Reviewing marketing materials and other communication
- Instructing and managing external counsel
- Managing legal compliance and training frameworks
- Work closely with the business to implement changes brought about by regulatory requirements
Ideal Candidate
- Admitted in Australia or New Zealand
- Mid-senior level lawyer with corporate commercial experience working for a leading law firm or inhouse business
- Experience in intellectual property, IT, and contract review would be advantageous
- Solid drafting and negotiating skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong commercial awareness and a willingness to learn
