We are partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit an Economic Research Analyst for their Antitrust and International Competition team based in London.

In this role, you will provide research and analytical support to the Competition and International Trade team, with a focus on merger control, foreign direct investment (FDI) reviews, and business development. You’ll deliver data-driven insights, monitor regulatory trends, and maintain internal knowledge resources.

This is a growth hire designed to strengthen the existing team. You will work closely with colleagues across competition and trade, offering research support and developing solutions to meet client needs. As a global role, it involves identifying opportunities, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and leveraging information resources to support strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct background research on clients and targets, including market sizing and outreach to data providers.
  • Monitor regulatory reviews and track precedent decisions, timelines, and trends.
  • Prepare market share estimates using public data and third-party resources.
  • Support business development by providing data and insights for pitches and strategy discussions.
  • Present findings in clear, well-structured reports, charts, and presentations for internal and client use.

Experience Required:

  • 2+ years in a research role with familiarity in M&A activity, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong numeracy skills and understanding of company financials.

Preferred (but not essential):

  • Foreign language proficiency.
  • Knowledge of antitrust or competition law.
