Sr. Legal Counsel
What you will be doing:
- Advise on cutting-edge and emerging legal issues as a core member of a growing and dynamic legal department.
- Work alongside other departments across the company, including Finance, Compliance, HR, Product, and Engineering.
- Negotiate, draft, and advise on commercial contracts and partnership agreements, including service provider agreements, index licenses, technology agreements, distribution agreements, customer contracts, vendor contracts, software licenses, consultancy agreements, and marketing agreements.
- Work directly with internal and external clients in the contract negotiation process including ensuring that sales and the business comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and company policies.
- Oversee employment-related matters.
- Supervise external litigations and disputes.
- Manage the Company’s broad intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and licensing agreements.
- Strategically oversee the operations of the Legal Department, including contract management, billing, and due diligence.
Desired Qualifications:
- A commercially minded, passionate, and fully qualified attorney admitted to practice in the US, United Kingdom, or Europe.
- 6+ years experience practicing law, preferably with in-house or start up experience.
- Comfortable in dealing with various commercial law matters, including commercial contract negotiations, drafting and reviewing.
- Familiar with performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
- A high level of understanding of processes, policies and key relationships, with an ability to monitor, design and continuously improve processes.
- Good knowledge of the wider financial industry.
- Interest in digital assets and blockchain technology is a plus, though it is not required for the role.
