General Counsel Role – Global Reinsurance Company

Leading global insurance and reinsurance business is seeking a General Counsel to play a key part in their reinsurers‘ growth. The successful candidate will be working closely with their senior leadership team who is focused on developing their exposure as part of the broader group and capital management strategy. You’ll be working closely with the CFO of the business and managing an international team.

On a day-to-day basis, your role will involve:

* Management of the day to day and wider strategic legal and governance issues
* Development of legal strategy and management of legal risk
* Leading the review of contracts to ensure legal certainty and appropriate protections within the risk framework
* Preparing for and conducting certain regulatory interactions
* Development and management of relationships with external legal advisors
* Providing legal assistance to the business on reinsurance recoveries capital solutions
* Leading all the legal aspects of internal and external capital solutions transactions including loss portfolio transfers, quota share arrangements and insurance-linked securities.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone familiar with capital solutions, large reinsurance transactions operating at a similar role with another reinsurance company, who enjoys the building out and planning aspect. Alternatively, it suits someone operating at a senior level and looking for that next step up.
