Experienced Environment Lawyer opportunity

Are you a qualified lawyer with upwards of 5 years PQE looking to make an impact in Climate & Sustainability law?

Our client is a leading international law firm looking to recruit an experienced lawyer to join its esteemed Environment Team, based in any of its UK offices in London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Aberdeen.

About You:

Our client is looking to recruit a bright and enthusiastic environment lawyer with exemplary skills and substantial experience in providing strategic and regulatory advice on environment, natural capital, climate, and sustainability matters. You should possess expertise in contractual drafting and negotiation in this domain and demonstrate adaptability and collaboration skills to thrive in this evolving practice area.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Advising on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and Nutrient Neutrality for developers
Providing counsel on natural capital projects in the UK and/or overseas
Guiding clients on carbon offsetting projects nationally and internationally
Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements related to BNG, Nutrient Neutrality, natural capital investment, carbon offsetting, and other ecosystem services outcomes
Offering insights on climate reporting, extended producer responsibility, and supply chain measures
Assisting in the establishment and operation of natural capital projects, including habitat banks for BNG and Nutrient Neutrality, carbon offsetting, and other ecosystem services
Drafting and negotiating section 106 agreements and conservation covenants to secure natural capital projects
