We are partnering with an international US firm to recruit a Risk Specialist based in London for its global risk team on an initial 12‑month FTC, with potential to become a permanent role.

Reporting to the Associate General Counsel in London and the Senior Risk Operations Manager in New York, you will advise senior management, partners, and legal/office staff on legal and regulatory matters affecting the Firm. This includes supporting client and matter onboarding, developing and maintaining key policies, implementing internal risk processes, and delivering relevant training and guidance.

This is a dual-role covering both conflicts and AML, with the opportunity to contribute to broader risk projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and delivering detailed analysis for Conflict Check Requests relating to new business, lateral hires, and trade reports.
  • Supporting client and matter onboarding by conducting conflicts, due diligence, sanctions, and reputational risk checks.
  • Monitoring changes to relevant rules and regulations (including AML, SRA, DAC6, and sanctions) and helping update and communicate associated policies and processes.
  • Maintaining and enhancing databases, processing records, breach logs, risk registers, and internal know-how to ensure accuracy and usability for compliance reporting and decision‑making.

Applicant Expectations:

  • 4+ years’ experience in conflicts and AML within an international law firm.
  • Ideally dual exposure; deeper expertise in one area with some experience in the other is acceptable.
  • Experience with IntApp or similar conflicts tools is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of client and matter onboarding processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, practical guidance.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
