The Role
You will play a senior role within the team, advising on the full range of planning and development matters. Work will include major residential and mixed-use schemes, strategic development sites, infrastructure projects and compulsory purchase matters. You will lead on complex planning agreements, manage contentious issues such as appeals and judicial review, and supervise junior lawyers. The position also involves significant client engagement and business development responsibilities, contributing to the continued growth of the national practice.
What They’re Looking For
- Extensive experience in planning law gained in a recognised practice
- Strong track record advising on planning strategies for major developments and infrastructure projects
- Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex Section 106 agreements and advising on compulsory purchase matters
- Experience handling contentious planning work, including appeals, enforcement and judicial review
- Excellent technical ability with a commercial and solution-driven approach
- Strong leadership skills and willingness to mentor junior colleagues
- Aptitude for client relationship development and business growth
