Role Overview

The Compliance Team Lead is a hands-on leader who combines direct client work with responsibility for guiding and developing a small team of compliance professionals. This individual will help drive exceptional client service while supporting team performance, development, and day-to-day execution. The role offers a blend of client-facing work, mentoring, and operational leadership within a collaborative and growing organization.

Client Delivery Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key contributor on compliance engagements and projects.
  • Manage a portfolio of client relationships while balancing leadership responsibilities.
  • Act as a primary contact for assigned clients and provide responsive, practical guidance.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality compliance solutions and recommendations.
  • Partner with internal experts to address complex or specialized matters as needed.

Team Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead regular check-ins with team members to support development, engagement, and performance.
  • Oversee team capacity and project demands to help ensure deadlines and commitments are met.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative culture that emphasizes accountability and teamwork.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Review work product and offer guidance to support consistency and quality.
  • Help coordinate coverage and resource allocation across the team.
  • Support the successful onboarding and integration of new hires.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, team initiatives, and operational priorities.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding priorities, deadlines, and project status.
  • Engage internal specialists when additional expertise is required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of compliance experience with demonstrated expertise in one or more compliance disciplines.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or developing professionals in a client-facing or professional services environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, results-oriented environment.
  • Experience utilizing project management, workflow management, or similar business operations tools.
