A leading London law firm is seeking a Residential Real Estate Associate (1-2 PQE) to join its highly regarded Residential Property team. The practice advises high‑net‑worth individuals, international buyers, family offices and private banks on premium residential transactions. Matters range from high‑value sales and acquisitions to complex landlord & tenant work and secured lending.
Typical transaction values range from £1.5 million to £45 million, offering exposure to some of the most prestigious properties in the London and UK market. The team is known for technical quality, commerciality and strong associate development.
The Role
You will work closely with partners and senior associates, handling a varied residential caseload under supervision. Responsibilities include:
- Acting on high‑value residential purchases and sales (typically £1.5m-£45m).
- Advising on secured lending matters for private banks.
- Managing landlord and tenant issues, including drafting and negotiating leases, lease extensions, licences and deeds of variation.
- Supporting on wider residential and property finance matters.
General responsibilities include:
- Managing your own files (with supervision), ensuring compliance with internal quality procedures and CQS requirements.
- Liaising directly with clients-including HNW and international clients-and coordinating with other lawyers.
- Balancing instructions from multiple partners and senior associates, managing workflow effectively.
- Contributing to business development and marketing initiatives.
- Keeping up to date with legal developments and building expertise in relevant areas.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical capability and polished client‑facing skills. Key requirements include:
- Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales with strong academics.
- At least 6 months’ residential real estate experience during training, and a minimum of one year’s PQE in a residential property team.
- Strong organisational skills and experience managing multiple matters simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and proven experience delivering high‑quality client service, particularly to HNW and UHNW clients.
- Clear, confident communication and the ability to build credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, positive approach with strong time‑management and commercial awareness.
- Confidence with billing, time recording and meeting deadlines.
