Senior Legal Counsel, Regulatory Gov & Comp
Our client is seeking a Senior Regulatory Governance and Compliance Legal Counsel to join their Legal and Compliance team in Miami, FL.
The candidate will handle all matters concerning regulatory governance, in particular in relation to FIFA statutes and the FIFA governance regulations due to the companies close work with the FIFA organization.
Responsibilities:
- Handle complex investigations into possible breaches of FIFA regulations including the regulations on the status of transfer of players, football (soccer) agent regulations and clearing house regulations.
- Provide substantial comments and feedback to regulatory projects, legal documents and general matters related to soccer regulations.
- Gather and assess evidence, prepare case files and reports for disciplinary proceedings before judicial bodies.
- Drafting correspondence reports, methodology guidelines, setting up a database of relevant decisions and jurisprudence.
Experience and Education:
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in either a law firm, sports governing body, soccer stakeholder or sports organization.
- University degree in Law.
- Admission to a US State bar.
- Further education is a sports law related context is an asset.
- Fluency in English and proficiency either French/Spanish/German is a must.
