Senior Legal Counsel

About the Role:

Our client is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join their Legal & Compliance team. This position will collaborate with the business across Europe. The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience from the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory & Compliance

• Advise on pharmaceutical regulatory matters, including ICH GCP, FDA/EMA guidelines, and internal SOPs.
• Assist teams in ensuring compliance with applicable regulations across various European jurisdictions.
• Advise on data privacy and protection matters.
• Maintain and update internal compliance documentation, including privacy policies and data processing agreements.
• Offer legal support on broader compliance topics such as anti-bribery, anti-corruption, codes of conduct, and corporate governance.
• Manage legal aspects of insurance coverage.

Commercial Contracting

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including master service agreements, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, data processing agreements, and vendor/supplier contracts.
• Deliver business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders.

Legal Operations & Process Optimisation

• Help develop and maintain legal templates, playbooks, and standardised workflows.
• Support the rollout of scalable legal tech tools and systems.
• Promote a forward-thinking legal operations approach, integrating efficiency tools and AI while maintaining robust legal standards.

Risk Management & Governance

• Identify potential legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to corporate governance activities and assist with subsidiary management as required.

About You:

• 5+ years of relevant legal experience
• Strong background in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector
• Pharmaceutical regulatory experience (ICH GCP, FDA/EMA, SOPs)
• Solid knowledge of GDPR and commercial contracting
• Corporate experience is a plus
• Relevant legal degree
