Legal Counsel, Environmental Impact

An Abu Dhabi based investment management group with a strong influence into environmental protection, is creating and financing nature based solutions in emerging markets territories.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support legal due diligence for investment transactions, including project financings and offtake agreements.
  • Review, draft and amend contracts related to trading frameworks.
  • Conduct legal and policy research on regulatory developments related to corporate, financial services, and trading markets.
  • Assist in preparation of internal corporate documents such as board resolutions, shareholder agreements, and service provider contracts.
  • Monitor evolving laws, industry standards, and policy trends relevant to trading markets, financial regulation, and environmental commodities.

Who you’ll likely need to be in order to succeed:

Whilst there is a degree of flexibility, there are some core guidelines that make the backbone of the client expectations:

  • England and Wales qualified, with a PQE guideline of at least 2+, and probably no more than 8 years.
  • Specific carbon or commodities trading work, along with a generalist skill set across commercial, corporate, transactions, and / or financial services work.
  • Exposure to financial services trading and regulated financial markets is ideal.
  • Current UAE residence will be preferred but very suitable overseas applicants will also be considered.
  • Strong interest and commitment to climate change initiatives.
