Commercial Manager | Real Estate Advisory
Our client is Australia’s leading independent real estate advisor, with a specialist focus on cross-border investments. They represent international clients to make direct and indirect investments across all real estate sectors, and along the full spectrum of the risk curve. They support their clients to successfully invest in the Australian real estate market by originating and negotiating the highest quality opportunities in both direct acquisitions and corporate real estate transactions. In the past 5 years, they have completed over $20 billion (end value) of transactions. In addition to transacting, they actively represent clients throughout the entire lifecycle of their investments.
This is a newly created role and a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced and outstanding corporate real estate lawyer to make the transition into a business role, while still utilising significant legal and commercial skills. This role will provide exposure to exceptional projects and clients in the real estate sector.
You will receive competitive remuneration, consisting of a base salary plus a generous bonus package. You will also receive ongoing support and coaching to assist you in making the transition from an advisor (in your current legal role) to an active deal participant and deal-maker. Whilst you are probably currently a lawyer, you are known for your commercial approach and excellent relationship skills.
This is a Sydney-based, on-site role.
Essential:
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse complex investment structures.
- Experienced (at least 7 years PQE) corporate real estate lawyer looking to transition into a business role, while utilising significant legal and commercial skills. Top-tier law firm experience will be viewed favourably, as will working in a leading corporate real estate legal team.
- Extensive experience in managing all legal aspects of real estate development, including structuring, due diligence, and transaction documents associated with large-scale, complex development projects with third-party capital across all real estate sectors.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience across multiple asset classes (office, residential, retail, industrial).
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage changing objectives and multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior executives.
- High attention to detail with strong project management capabilities.
- Relationship builder, both in the firm and externally with clients.
