Commercial Litigation Associate
Overview: A respected Baltimore-based law firm is seeking a skilled Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its litigation practice. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong deposition experience and a passion for strategic advocacy. The attorney will play a central role in managing depositions across a variety of complex commercial disputes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Prepare clients and witnesses for deposition and trial testimony
- Draft and respond to discovery requests, motions, and pleadings
- Develop litigation strategy in coordination with senior attorneys
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
- Manage caseload efficiently to meet billable hour requirements
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active Maryland Bar license in good standing
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial litigation experience
- Demonstrated expertise in deposition strategy and execution
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Performance Expectations:
- Annual billable hour requirement: 1,650 hours
- Commitment to high-quality client service and professional integrity
- Timely and effective communication with clients and colleagues
