Interim EMEA Commercial & Marketing Counsel (Contract)<\/span><\/h1>\n

Location: UK-based (remote)<\/p>\n

Contract: Initial12 months<\/p>\n

Commitment: 4-5 days per week (5 preferred)<\/p>\n

We are supporting a leading global consumer technology platform with the search for an Interim EMEA Commercial & Marketing Counsel to join its high-performing in-house legal team. This role has been created in response to a significant increase in regional marketing investment and activity across EMEA.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This is a hands-on, high-impact position supporting fast-moving creative, marketing and partnerships teams across multiple jurisdictions, with primary focus on the UK.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The role<\/span><\/h2>\n

Reporting into a Senior Legal Counsel within a collaborative EMEA legal team, you will act as a trusted business partner to marketing, communications and partnerships stakeholders, advising on a broad range of commercial and advertising matters in a dynamic, consumer-facing environment.<\/p>\n

The role offers a high degree of autonomy and exposure to senior stakeholders, while remaining closely embedded within a supportive legal team.<\/p>\n

Key responsibilities<\/span><\/h2>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Advising on marketing and advertising law across EMEA, with a strong UK focus<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including creative and media agency agreements, sponsorship agreements, co-promotional and marketing partnership agreements, and influencer and talent contracts<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Supporting consumer communications, PR and high-profile cultural and brand campaigns<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Advising growth marketing and partnerships teams on new initiatives, including sports, major events and travel-related partnerships<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Reviewing and approving consumer-facing marketing materials and press communications under tight timelines<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Advising on consumer protection, advertising codes, intellectual property, claims substantiation, privacy and pricing issues<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Coordinating cross-border legal input for EMEA-wide campaigns and liaising with global legal counterparts<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Supporting the development and improvement of marketing and commercial templates, playbooks and processes<\/p>\n

About you<\/span><\/h2>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>5+ years’ PQE, with strong relevant experience gained in-house and\/or at a recognised private practice<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Background advising on commercial, marketing and advertising matters for consumer-facing businesses<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Confident operating in a fast-paced, creative environment with senior stakeholders<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused, with the confidence to challenge and push back where required<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Comfortable working at pace and managing multiple priorities concurrently<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Able to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a legal team<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Qualified in the UK or another EU jurisdiction<\/p>\n

\u00b7<\/span> <\/span>Additional European language skills advantageous but not essential<\/p>\n
