An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented tax solicitor to join a leading global tax practice at our client, a leading Top 10 international City law firm.

The team advises on some of the most complex and high-profile matters in the market, spanning both contentious and non-contentious tax work. Associates benefit from exposure to a broad range of sectors and transactions, working alongside market-leading experts in a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment.

The practice is recognised for its strength across corporate M&A, real estate, energy and infrastructure, investment funds, insurance, and finance. It also boasts a tier-one tax disputes and investigations offering, handling business-critical matters for major corporates and financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on a wide range of transactional tax matters, including M&A, corporate restructuring, real estate, energy taxation, capital markets, and fund structuring.
  • Work on tax disputes and investigations in collaboration with the firm’s leading disputes team.
  • Deliver high-quality legal advice and client service, often acting as a direct point of contact.
  • Contribute to the development of junior team members and participate in internal and external initiatives, including training, thought leadership, and business development.
  • Build strong relationships across the firm’s international network and with clients.

Candidate Profile

  • 1-3 years’ post-qualification experience in tax law, gained at a reputable law firm. UK experience is essential.
  • Strong technical ability and a commercial mindset, with a willingness to engage across both contentious and non-contentious matters.
  • Experience in private capital and/or real estate is advantageous but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on complex, high-value transactions and disputes.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
